Jazz Clubs

Some of you may know that I have started to learn to play the SAX.  In my quest to learn more about music, and just to enjoy a great night out, I have been visiting some local Jazz Clubs.  Every club that I have been too, whether with or without my camera I have always been well entertained and made to feel welcome.

Having a chance to speak to some of the musicians is great, again they are all very approachable and willing to answer any questions.

Below are a few of the photos that I have taken.  Conditions are not easy, due to the low light levels and not wanting to use flash.  A high ISO setting 1600 was used and a wide aperture F2.8.  I hope you like them and I hope that I have captured the atmosphere.

The few photos that have been shot using flash, although sharper, are to bright and have little atmosphere.  I think the way forward may be to introduce some additional lights to brighten the whole stage area slight just to raise the shutter speeds by a few stops.

hese prints are no for sale using the automated system.  This is because of the high ISO setting used.  How ever should you wish to purchase a photo, these will normally be 6 x 4 then please email me at andy @ fapo.co.uk  (take out the space around the "@") stating which photos you are interested in and i will look at them on an individual basis.  I am happy to email you low res copies suitable for use upon your web site at no charge.  I only ask to be credited for them upon you site with a link back to this site.
